Abstract
The studies were attempted to investigate the effects of wa.er-extracts (WE) and essential oil (EO) isolated from ,he Cinnamoni Ramulus on the blood-pressure, heart- -ate, and renal and hepatic function in rabbits.
The experimental animals in this study were divided into ti tree groups and treated as follows; All experimental gi oup were injected intravenously physiological saline solution (0.5 ml/min) during this study; The WE group was administered WE of Cinnamomi Ramulus (200 n g/Kg, i-v.); The EO group was administered EO of Cinna momi Ramulus (10 mg/Kg, i.v.).
The following results were obtained.
1) WE and EO of Cinnamomi Ramulus demonstrated mild duretic action relatively long acting duration in rabbis. The mechanism of diuretic action of Cinnamomi Ramulus was resulted due to inhibitory effect of re -al tubular reabsorption of sodiurn and chloride ions.
2) VE and EO of Cinnamomi Ramulus was showed mild hypotensive effect in anesthetized rabbits.
3) .he heart-rate in anesthetized rabbits was decreasd signigicantly by the administration of WE and EO o Stained from Cinnamomi Ramulus.
4) The hypotensive effect of WE and EO seems due to nega ive chronotropic and diuretic action.
5) WE and EO of Cinnamomi Ramulus were not demi strated choleretic action in anesthetized rabbits with biliary fistula.
Ac: cording to the above results, the essential oil in Cinn imomi Ramulus seems an infuential component aga, ist the renal and cardiovacular function in rabbits.
